Bass House is our Year 5 to Year 9 boys Boarding house. Our house motto of “believe, challenge, succeed” is something that encapsulates the essence of Bass and the boys whom live there. We aim to foster a ‘home from home’ environment, which promotes the nurturing of the boys in their early boarding lives, while providing the supporting framework which aims to ensure that they progress with confidence and with ease.
Our fully qualified staff work tirelessly to encourage a happy and fun environment which aims to see the boarders enjoy their time with us at LVS Ascot. We strongly encourage our boarders to develop the independent skills needed in our modern world and to take safe and controlled risks to further their own learning. The vast plethora of trips and excursions see Bass House boarders taking full advantage of the exciting programme of activities that our boarders at LVS Ascot enjoy on a weekly basis.
Bass House is home to approximately 43 boys that share dormitories ranging from five to six berths as well as a large communal area and a movie room. There are four staff accommodations inside the Boarding house for our Assistant Housemaster, Housemother and our Resident Tutor. The Boarding Housemaster lives in a family accommodation attached to the main Boarding house. Bass House also has kitchen facilities to make refreshments and a large outdoor patio for the boys to enjoy in their ‘free time’. In Bass we do encourage the social interaction between our boys and for that reason we do monitor the use of electronics to ensure there is a healthy balance.
Our weekend activities range from onsite playing on the school’s astro pitch, tennis court, use of the swimming pool and the use of our sport facilities to offsite adventures. These include visiting local towns such as Bracknell, Windsor and Camberley and sites of cultural interest such as the London Science and History museums. We also partake in joint Boarding trips with the other Houses and these go to places such as Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventures, Westfields Shopping Centre in London, Brighton beach and town, Go-karting and onsite BBQs with giant inflatable rides.
Mr Bradley Hunt is the Housemaster of Bass House and Assistant Head of Boarding at LVS Ascot. He is joined by his Assistant Housemaster Mr Joshua Sivier, Miss Katrina Tily Bass House’s Housemother and Miss Livia Michel our Resident Tutor. The resident staff are also supported by an excellent team of Non Resident Tutors (NRTs) that assist in the evenings and on some weekends throughout the academic year.
