The Duke of Edinburgh's Award

LVS Ascot runs a flourishing and popular Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme, with regular expeditions and scores of students gaining Bronze, Silver and even Gold Awards.

Many of the School staff are trained as assessors and expedition supervisors.  Laura Turner is our highly experienced Head of Outdoor Pursuits.

Video by international students

A team of Chinese students, calling themselves the "Huskies" pushed themselves on their Gold DofE expeditions in Exmoor then again in the Brecon Beacons.  They decided to produce a short media clip on their experiences with two targets in mind.  One was to encourage other pupils to try something new and have fun as a team, whilst also they also wanted to learn how to edit, put sub-titles and combine video, images and animated text.  They put in a lot of effort to complete their target and have taken away many fond memories of their experience.
