Gilbey House

Gilbey is a co-educational sixth form boarding house for 58 students. The house runs on the principles of support and consideration for others, providing an environment where each boarder can fulfil their potential in every area of their school life.

As the senior house, our boarders are given an appropriate measure of independence and encouraged to take a degree of responsibility for their own affairs, supported by the house staff and wider school community. Our aim in Gilbey is to develop ‘all-rounders’ that are well prepared for the world beyond LVS.

Within Gilbey, there are three large common rooms which include two small kitchens. The common area designated for study includes desks, white board and a bank of computers; the second has a large-screen home cinema system with surround sound; the third is a games area with TV, pool table, table football and table tennis - ideal for relaxing after a hard day's study!

Gilbey House is such a positive and uplifting place to be. We have all grown up together. There is no spirit quite like that in a boarding house. After a long, hard day at school, I am always happy to get back to the smiles from staff and friends in house.
