General Estates Assistant

LVS Ascot is recruiting for a General Site Assistant to provide a collection and delivery service on site for laundry.

In addition you will be required to carry out other site related duties which may include litter clearing, cleaning of site signage and bicycle shed covers, carrying out high level dusting and there may be a requirement to drive a minibus on designated routes on occasions; therefore a full clean driving licence is essential. A D1 rating would be desirable but not essential.  

The position is to work 52 weeks per year, 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 0800 – 1500. Uniform and lunch are provided.

We are looking for keen team players who are trustworthy, caring and reliable. Full training will be given.

Minibus Drivers (part time)

LVS Ascot is a high performing co-educational day and boarding school, with a reputation for all-round excellence.  We are currently recruiting for  Minibus Drivers who will be required to drive the school minibus on local designated routes, 20 hours a week, as requested.  A full clean driving licence with a D1 rating is essential.

Hours of work: 0645 – 0845 and 1600 – 1800 Monday – Friday, term time only. Uniform is provided.

Teacher of Violin - to start as soon as possible

Graduate Boarding Assistants - for January 2018

We are seeking Graduate Boarding Assistants to support the smooth running of the Houses.  You will live and work at the school from January 2018 until July 2018.  The jobs are designed to give recent graduates an opportunity to gain experience of living and working in a boarding school environment, perhaps prior to embarking on a PGCE, or to taking up a full teaching position.

We are seeking confident, resilient, well-rounded personalities with good flexibility to be able to adapt to changing circumstances to fulfil the roles which will comprise primarily of house duties, administration, and boarding activities.  The majority of these duties take place before and after the academic school day (9am-4pm) and at weekends.  During curriculum time there may be the opportunity to assist with sport, music, other duties and any aspects of the school life in which the individual has a particular interest or expertise; this will be at the discretion of the Deputy Head Pastoral.

Domestic Assistants

LVS Ascot is recruiting for  Domestic Assistants to help provide and maintain the high standard of housekeeping services within all areas of the school including residential houses. We have two roles available for the following hours:

Monday to Friday 06.00 – 1500,  52 weeks per year, 40 hours per week.

Monday to Friday 05.00 – 14.30, 42.5 hours per week (maternity cover)

Assistant Accountant

                                            

The Licensed Trade Charity (LTC) is currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join in our success as part of our Finance team. This post offers career progression opportunities throughout the business.

Based in Ascot, the LTC was founded in 1794 by philanthropists in the licensed drinks trade, who set up a variety of operations, including a school; the daily newspaper The Publican’s Morning Advertiser and a charitable arm to look after people in crisis who had worked in the trade.  The LTC currently operates three schools.

As an Assistant Accountant you will be working with the Schools Management Accountant, to prepare the management accounts of schools within the LTC organisation and provide timely and suitable analysis for all operational departments and the executive team. You will also be responsible for the day to-day maintenance of the schools cash books of the Licensed Trade Charity.

 Key Responsibilities:

Working with the Schools Management Accountant, to support the production of timely and accurate monthly management accounts within 10 working days of the end of the month.

Preparation of monthly departmental accounts to the relevant operational teams within the LTC.

Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations for all three schools.

Maintain the petty cashbooks for both SEN schools, distributing pocket money and termly allowances when required.

Take credit card payments when requested by parents for payment of school fees or extras.

Banking of all cash and cheques received and collection of petty cash and foreign currency from the bank, as required.

Provide cover for and assist the Schools Management Accountant with any accounting and clerical duties as required.

Essential Criteria:

AAT qualified or part qualified ACCA/CIMA.

Customer focused and approachable

Excellent communication skills, verbal and written

Able to prepare clear, concise, accurate and timely reports

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages, specifically Excel spreadsheets and databases

Attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to work flexibly as part of a team

Confidence and ability to deal with and communicate with people at all levels

Organised, efficient and proactive

Ability to work calmly under pressure and to strict deadlines

Desirable Criteria:

Experience of using WCBS/PASS accounting systems

Experience of working in a charity/third sector organisation or an independent school
