Gilbey House
Gilbey House, provides accommodation for male and female boarding students in the Sixth Form.
Boarding at this level is an excellent preparation for university and life beyond. Life skills are developed by rewarding positive behaviour with privileges.
Students are encouraged to be independent and to organise their time to allow for study and a social life.
Mrs Donna Lister is the resident Housemother, assisted by resident tutors.
Accommodation is on separate male and female floors in shared dormitories. Prefects and Upper Sixth are allocated single or double rooms when numbers allow, whilst Lower Sixth will probably share with two or three others.
There are three common rooms, with faciliites including snack making facilities, a pool table, piano, televisions and DVD players.
"Gilbey House is such a positive and uplifting place to be. We have all grown up together and have learnt to live as one unit. If ever I have had a long day at school, I am always happy to get back to the smiles from staff and friends in house."
