Joining the Junior School
Once you have decided you would like your child to come to LVS it is important that they join us for the day so they will meet some of the children in their class and year group. We arrange taster days to coincide with an area of the curriculum your child enjoys so that they will have a really positive and enjoyable time with us. We assign them two ‘buddies’ who will look after them for the day and show them the ropes within the school. These taster days help your child to feel more confident about starting a new school and can give them a chance to make links with other children, who they may like to meet up with in a more social context before they begin their time at the school.
A message from the children
"When you come to visit the school for a taster day, we make you feel as welcome as possible. You will be included in all our lessons. You will be shown round the school by pupils, and we happily answer any questions, that you may ask. You will stay with us for lunch time and have playtimes here too. Children and teachers are very friendly and helpful towards each other. New children are greeted with a very warm welcome and we look forward to you becoming part of our community".
