Palace presents LVS student with DofE Gold Award
An LVS student was called to St James’s Palace for the presentation of his Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award.
Andrew Turner, a former LVS Sixth Former who finished his A Levels last summer, is the first pupil from LVS to gain all three DofE Awards: Gold, Silver and Bronze.
The award was presented to him by Prince Edward at a ceremony held in St James’s Palace. The Prince chatted to Andrew and praised him for being the first LVS student to gain the award.
Andrew completed all five sections of the Gold Award, which included a school expedition to Snowdonia.
Although he has now left the school, Andrew is continuing his commitment to DofE – he is joining the LVS DofE staff team and being trained as an expedition assessor.
