Christine Cunniffe appointed as new Head of Senior School
We are delighted to announce that Mrs Christine Cunniffe has been appointed as the new Head of Senior School from September 2010.
Christine, who has been a member of the LVS Ascot Senior Management Team since 2007, joined the school in 2003 as Director of Music. She took on the role of Assistant Head (Pastoral) in 2008, and moved to her current position of Assistant Head (Academic) in 2009.
Christine said: “I am delighted to be appointed as Head of the LVS Senior School after some hugely rewarding years as Assistant Head.
“I feel very excited at the prospect of leading this wonderfully happy and vibrant school to ever-growing success for years to come.”
Christine holds a Master of Music degree from Reading University, and began her teaching career in 1994 with Collenswood School in Stevenage, where she joined as Head of Music. She then moved to St Bernard’s Grammar in Slough, where she remained for seven years as Head of Music and Head of Year before joining LVS.
She replaces Mr Graham Best, who is moving on to St John’s School in Portsmouth after five years as Head of Senior School with LVS.
The school has also appointed two new Deputy Heads for September. The current Director of Boarding, Mr Chris Seal, has been promoted to Deputy Head (Pastoral), and Mr Crispin Davis will be joining the school as Deputy Head (Academic) from Francis Holland School in London.
Ian Mullins, Director of Education for the Licensed Trade Charity, said: “I have every confidence in this new Senior Team, and I know they will continue to build on the wonderful opportunities our students enjoy here at LVS Ascot.”
