LVS Athletes Win Bronze In National Biathlon Championships
Three LVS athletes have won Bronze at the British Schools Biathlon Championship in a hard-fought final at the end of March.
The Year 11 pupils, Iain, 15, Ryan, 16, and Joshua, 15, travelled to Crystal Palace National Sports Centre for the finals on 21st March, after qualifying in regional heats held in the Autumn Term.
The championships are run by Pentathlon GB to help nurture future British Olympic stars, and the boys are already part of the Talent ID squad for Pentathlon GB.
Biathlon includes running and swimming, and the competitions are held by Pentathlon GB to get young talent involved in ‘multi-sport’ disciplines like the Olympic sport of pentathlon.
The students were delighted with their result, and said: “The competition was tough, but we had great fun at the finals, and it was fantastic to win Bronze and make it up on the podium at the end!”
