Co-Curricular Programme

At LVS Ascot we believe passionately that our students' interests outside of their lessons are a hugely important part of their development into confident, well-rounded individuals. In fact, rather than call them 'extra-curricular activities', we call them co-curricular activities.

Below you will find a summary of some of our core co-curricular activities, with more detailed information in the menu to the left, including extra clubs and societies and our flourishing Duke of Edinburgh's Award programme.

Sport

There is an extensive competitive sport programme for boys and girls throughout the school from those representing the school at 1st team level to those who simply enjoy and love taking part. Teams train at lunch times and after school and benefit from the expertise of qualified and experienced coaches amongst LVS staff. We also have extensive connections with outside clubs and organisations and regularly put forward our best performers for representative selection.

Music

Music is an essential part of life at LVS, with 150 pupils receiving 1:1 instumental lessons. School choirs, orchestras and bands offer a variety of performance opportunities and our choirs compete in local and regional competitions. Musicians and singers participate in school occasions such as President’s Day and the Carol Service. Excellence in music is supported by a recording studio, music technology room, dedicated performance room and a state of the art sound system in the school theatre.

Drama

School drama in our superb Britvic Theatre gives many youngsters their first taste of acting and an insight into backstage and technical roles. These can include set design, sound stages, lighting design and make up. With major or examination productions each term, alongside backstage and acting clubs, any pupil who dreams of the footlights can develop their talent and enthusiasm.
