Curriculum

Years 7 - 9

In Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9) pupils study a breadth of subjects. There is a focus on developing the fundamental skills of literacy, numeracy and ICT whilst encouraging independent learning - a vital life skill. A number of subjects begin GCSE courses in Year 9 to allow for a broader range of subjects to be taught at GCSE level.

Years 10 - 11

At Key Stage 4 (Years 10-11) all pupils study 8 to 10 GCSEs from a choice of over 20 different subjects. Students are given a Year 10 Options booklet and are helped by staff to choose a well balanced programme that meets their needs and reflects their strengths and interests.

The majority of our Year 11 pupils continue into our Sixth Form. The school offers over 28 subjects, at AS and A Level, Applied A Levels and BTEC Nationals.

We normally achieve a 100% pass rate at A Level with some 40% of our students achieving A or B grades.
