The Learning Resource Centre
More than just a library
The LRC is more than a library – it is at the heart of “independent learning” and the “literary culture” within the school. It is open to students from 9a.m. to 9p.m. Monday to Friday and, for the boarding community, on Saturday mornings and Sunday evenings. It is fully staffed by trained library staff during the school week. Day pupils may use the LRC until 5.30p.m each weekday evening.
24 hour access via 'Oliver'
Our purpose-built, two-storey library offers every facility including plenty of good, up-to-date books, both fiction and non-fiction as well as an extensive range of online resources, all available through our library catalogue, Oliver. Oliver can be accessed from home allowing students 24 hour access to resources. All students are members of the library and may borrow books and academic periodicals to support their learning and reading for pleasure. A wide range of reading related activities takes place throughout the year to support staff and students. Guides to services in the LRC are available for all students.
