LVS Ascot Yr. 10-13 students put on fantastic double bill production for end of term performance

Our fantastic Year 10-13 students performed a double bill featuring a play and musical from the 8th of December through to the 10th of December at our fully equipped on-site theatre. Act 1 was a play, ‘Class’ by Ben Bailey Smith and Lajaune Lincoln from the 2019 National Theatre Connections Festival. Act 2 was a musical, Six (teen edition), by Lucy Moss and Toby Marlow.

Auditions took part in September with students dedicating a huge amount of time rehearsing, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings ever since and a total of 3 additional Sundays. A cast of over 30 students took part in the production and the band played original music. The phenomenal lighting and design for both shows was put together by sixth form students.

Jessica Clark, Head of Performing Arts and Drama said “Both shows offered the students different challenges and opportunities and all the students involved rose to the challenge. All performances of the show were well received by audience members of all ages.  Year 7-9 students were given the opportunity to watch as they have their own production in March, and I know they were inspired by what they saw. We are very proud of all the hard work the students and production team put in to making this possible”.
