LVS Ascot Discounts, Bursaries and Scholarships for The Licensed Trade

The Licensed Trade Charity and LVS Ascot
LVS Ascot is owned and managed by The Licensed Trade Charity. This is a charity that has been helping members of the licensed trade since 1793. The charity opened its first school in 1803 and has been educating children ever since. Click here to see our history.
We still offer sizeable discounts, scholarships and bursaries to those working in the licensed trade (scroll down). Our main criteria to qualify for these is the following:
To apply for any of the below, you as a parent or legal guardian need to be either currently, or have in the past, worked in the licensed drinks trade* for a total of five consecutive years. However this can be in one or more jobs — either selling, serving, manufacturing or distributing alcohol. We would expect to see proof of that working history.

20% Trade Discount
A 20% discount is applicable for those who work, or have worked, within the licensed trade (see criteria/definition above).
To apply for the above, an application must be made to register your child through the Admissions team. Our staff can guide you through the process. We can also advise as to whether discounts, scholarships and bursaries can be combined. Please click the button below to complete an initial enquiry form and one of our staff will get back to you.

Licensed Trade Charity Scholarships
The Licensed Trade Charity offers day-place scholarships to LVS Ascot for entry into all years from Yr 3 onwards. Scholarships are discretionary and typically usually cover up to 50% of day-place fees, but in exceptional cases up to up to 80% which combined with the 20% trade discount can meet the full cost of the LVS Ascot day fees.
The scholarship will cover a percentage of teaching fees, meals, curriculum books and exam entrance charges. Applications are invited from parents (or legal guardians) of children who are highly able across the academic, creative and sporting curriculum. The scholarships are not subject specific. A parent or guardian must meet the employment criteria above. Our Admissions team will arrange an assessment that will enable us to understand the child’s abilities or talents. The percentage of scholarship awarded will then reflect the child’s ability in their particular field.

Licensed Trade Charity Bursaries
The Licensed Trade Charity offers bursaries up to 100% off day fees (Yr 3 onwards) and boarding fees (Yr 6 onwards) and subsidy towards uniform, school trips and school materials. These are means tested bursaries available where a parent or guardian meets the employment criteria above. They are offered to children who would benefit from being educated at LVS Ascot due to family, educational or other reasons.
