The Next Steps
Every year when we say goodbye to our Year 13 students, we know they are well prepared for life beyond school.
We aim to provide our students with all the tools they will need to submit a successful application to UCAS. We also provide many opportunities for our students to boost their applications through our work with outside organisations.
Morrisby Assessments are undertaken by all students in Years 10 and 12. It is an online interactive careers tool that guides students through what can be the difficult process of choosing A-level subjects and also the options available after Sixth Form when it comes to thinking about university choices.
ILM2 is a two-day course offered to 15 students per year and is designed to improve teamwork and motivation while developing confidence to act in a leadership role.
The National Citizenship Service and Camps International are organisations that visit us and speak to our students about the opportunity to take part in summer activities. Our work with the latter allows 10 students to take part in Trek Cambodia which takes them on a ten-day trip around Cambodia. Students fundraise to go there and take part in volunteering activities with rural communities.
The qualifications, skills and experiences they have gained during their time with us allow them to enter the next phase of their lives with confidence.
The majority of our Sixth Form students will go straight to university, whilst others take a gap year, and some decide that work-based training will suit them better.
We offer careers advice alongside the academic advice we give about university course selection to help our students calmly navigate what can be a difficult crossroads.
