Performing Arts Year 7 Scholarship Criteria and Process

Performing arts scholarships celebrate the talent and accomplishments of students across all areas of performing arts.  Those applying for a performing arts scholarship may demonstrate ability in Drama, Music or Dance or a combination of these disciplines. LVS Ascot will take a holistic view of an applicant and look at their skills as an overall performer.

When applying for a scholarship students should consider what they wish to perform during their audition in order to showcase their skills. Students are able to perform up to four pieces if they are invited to audition. There will be an initial round where we ask scholarship applicants to send a short video of their performances, LVS Ascot will then shortlist students for an interview and audition in person.

Applicants are encouraged to present a portfolio showcasing their achievements so far. This can include but is not limited to, exam certificates, performances they have taken part in, shows they have seen and can discuss on interview and references from current teachers (i.e. LAMDA teacher, singing teacher, saxophone teacher). This portfolio will be looked at prior to interview and will be discussed with the student during the interview with the Director of Performing Arts.

Students applying for a scholarship do not need to have taken any formal exams but should have the relevant experience in their chosen discipline. LVS Ascot will look at a students potential within performing arts, taking both their audition and interview into account during the decision process to see which students are successful.
