In the early years of secondary school, practices are compulsory for all Year 7s in the first two weeks of each term. We are an extremely inclusive school, and we like to see as many pupils as possible taking part in practices and fixtures after these first two weeks. Saturday mornings are also compulsory for all Year 7s in the first two weekends of each term. This is for either a match or practice.
As our students get older and their interests widen, we offer a wide range of other sports for them to enjoy. We have an indoor swimming pool, a fitness centre, a full-size all-weather pitch and a sports hall

This Year in Sport...
Throughout this year, sports at LVS Ascot have continued to thrive across all school levels. Pupils have consistently showcased teamwork, collaboration, communication, and camaraderie, coupled with determination and skill.
In the Infant and Junior School, alongside regular inter-school fixtures and house competitions in various sports, students participated in numerous ISA tournaments. Notable achievements included being runners-up in the Maidenhead Magpies Year 3 and 4 boys’ Football Festival. Pupils also attended a sports tour to St. George’s Park for football and hockey, featuring training sessions with England coaches and matches with renowned clubs like Beeston Hockey Club.

In the Senior School, a myriad of fixtures and co-curricular clubs have provided an abundance sporting opportunities for pupils to take part in. Key highlights have included the annual ISA U11, U13, and U15 boys and girls and boys national football tournaments, where LVS secured notable victories in the U11 girls and U15 boys plates and second in the U13 boys cup.
Pupils across all age groups have taken part in ISA national and county tournaments in sports such as football, basketball, cricket, netball, hockey and rugby and represented the school fantastically.

Additionally, a football, basketball and volleyball tour to Barcelona in October for years 10-13, offered training sessions with Barcelona’s academies and cultural experiences visiting the Sagrada Familia. This year also saw us host the inaugural Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity Fun Run, which raised over £600.
Other achievements have included hosting the U12 boys Berkshire hockey tournament, securing silver medals, and the U14 Girls hockey team’s success in coming third in the South-Central Regional competition.

At the ISA regional swimming competition, three pupils qualified for the national event, where they earned two bronze medals and a gold medal. Cross country saw five pupils qualify for the national competition, achieving impressive results, including two bronze medals.
LVS Ascot extends gratitude to everyone involved in fostering a thriving sports culture, including pupils, parents, staff, catering, and grounds teams. Sports here would not be what they are without you all.

What our students say - Jabari
Jabari was a recent Head Boy and joined the school as a boarder in Year 7. He is also a keen athlete and has his sights set on the 2028 Olympics. He says LVS Ascot supported him to work towards his goal.
The duties of being Head Boy may have taken up some of Jabari’s free time, but he also studied hard for his A-Levels.
His family moved around a lot when he was younger as they are in the armed forces. LVS Ascot was able to offer him a stable and nurturing environment. Jabari was also keen to find a solid friendship group and says he has made lifelong friends at the school.
