Art Year 7 Scholarship Criteria

Art Year 7 Scholarship Criteria and Process
We will need to see a portfolio of work
What should the portfolio include? The portfolio can vary in size, but A3 is an ideal scale. Aim to include 10-20 pieces of the candidate’s own work, created within the last 18-24 months. You may incorporate paintings, drawings, textiles, mixed media, or photography. Ensure any 3D artwork (sculpture etc.) is photographed.
What will the Art assessment involve?
The assessment will consist of a brief interview with the Head of Art and an observational drawing exercise, focusing on the candidates use of tonal shading and accurate proportions. No preparation is needed, and all materials will be supplied. However, candidates are welcome to use their own drawing pencils if they prefer.
