LVS Ascot students deliver outstanding performances in their end of year production: The Little Mermaid

LVS Ascot Senior School students performed Disney’s the Little Mermaid from the 2nd December through to the 4th December. This was their first live performance since Covid with an in-person audience and what a success it was; with over 75 cast and crew that took part in the production and auditions that took place from the first week back in September! They have been rehearsing hard ever since.

Pupils from across years 7 to 13 filled the main parts and students did not crumble with the added pressure but thrived! Together, we had a lot of support from the art department which included IJS students making all the light up recycled plastic fish. This was brilliant because it allowed a real variety of students to get involved.

Jessica Clark, Head of Performing Arts and Drama said “It has been almost two years since we created a full scale production and what a joy it was to be back on stage. We had a fantastic cast and backstage crew of students from Year 7 through to Year 13 who were all phenomenal and I am very proud of all the hard work they put into the show. The rehearsal period was a challenging one, with many isolation periods and other obstacles but the resilience of the students was outstanding, and their performances were amazing! The rapport the cast and crew have built is wonderful and to see them all getting on so well was as rewarding as seeing their final performances. We have all made wonderful memories putting this production together and it is so fantastic to be back performing in front of full audiences”.
